How do I create a print cover on PubliWrite?

You can create a print cover directly inside the PubliWrite publishing flow.
The print cover is used for printed versions of your book, such as paperback or hardcover. Unlike the marketplace cover, the print cover is a full wrap that includes the back cover, spine, and front cover.

Where can I create my print cover?

During the publishing flow, go to the Cover section.
Under Print cover, choose Design it here.
You can use this option whether your book was created in Creator Studio, imported from a Word document, or uploaded as a finished file.

Choose how you want to design the print cover

After clicking Design it here, you can choose a starting style.
You can:

  • Start from scratch if you want to create a basic full-wrap design yourself
  • Choose one of the available print cover templates
  • Pick a template style that best matches your book
The print cover layout is prepared for the selected print version.

If you start from scratch

If you select Start from scratch, the editor opens a blank full-wrap cover layout.
The layout includes:

  • Back cover
  • Spine
  • Front cover
You can add and edit elements such as text, images, shapes, and backgrounds.
When the design is ready, click Set as cover.

If you choose a template

If you choose a template, PubliWrite opens a guided setup.
First, select the template style you want to use, then click Continue.
The template will apply to the full print cover layout, including the back cover, spine, and front cover.

Confirm your words

Next, confirm the text that appears on the print cover.
The information is pulled from your book record, and you can review or edit details such as:

  • Book title
  • Author name
  • Description
The preview updates as you make changes.

Refine the cover

After confirming the words, you can refine the design.
Depending on the selected template, you may be able to adjust colours and other basic style elements.
If you want more control, you can switch to Advanced mode.

Use Advanced mode

Advanced mode gives you more editing options for the full print cover.
You can use it to adjust:

  • Templates
  • Text
  • Images
  • Shapes
  • Background
  • Layers
You can also manage elements separately across the back cover, spine, and front cover.

Set the design as your print cover

When your print cover is ready, click Set as cover.
This saves the design as your print cover for the selected print version.
You cannot download the cover file from the editor. The cover is saved inside PubliWrite and used for your print book submission.

Can I still upload my own print cover?

Yes. If you already have a print-ready cover PDF, you can choose Upload my own instead of Design it here.
You can also download a blank wrap layout if you want to design your print cover outside PubliWrite and upload it later.

Important note

Review your print cover carefully before submitting your book.
Make sure the front cover, spine, and back cover look correct, and that the title, author name, and description are accurate and readable.
