How do I create a marketplace cover on PubliWrite?

You can create a marketplace cover directly inside the PubliWrite publishing flow.
The marketplace cover is the image readers see on your public book page and storefront. You can either upload your own cover or use PubliWrite’s built-in cover editor to design one.

Where can I create my marketplace cover?

During the publishing flow, go to the Cover section.
Under Marketplace cover, choose Design it here.
You can use this option whether your book was created in Creator Studio, imported from a Word document, or uploaded as a finished PDF or EPUB.

Choose how you want to design the cover

After clicking Design it here, you can choose a starting style.
You can:

  • Start from scratch if you want to create a basic design yourself
  • Choose one of the available cover templates
  • Pick a template style that best matches your book category or visual direction
Your marketplace cover is automatically created in the correct size for the marketplace.

If you start from scratch

If you select Start from scratch, the editor opens a blank marketplace cover layout.
From there, you can add and edit elements such as:

  • Text
  • Images
  • Shapes
  • Backgrounds
You can use the available tools to build a simple cover design directly inside the editor.
When you are happy with the result, click Set as cover.

If you choose a template

If you choose a template, PubliWrite opens a guided cover setup.
First, select the template style you want to use.
Then, confirm the words that appear on the cover.
The title and author name are pulled from your book record. You can review and edit them in this step, and the cover preview updates as you type.

Refine the colours

After confirming the text, you can refine the cover colours.
Depending on the selected template, you may be able to adjust:

  • Background colour
  • Text colour
The preview updates so you can see how the cover will look.
If you want more control over the layout, fonts, artwork, or layers, you can switch to Advanced mode.

Use Advanced mode

Advanced mode gives you more editing options.
You can use it to adjust elements such as:

  • Templates
  • Text
  • Images
  • Shapes
  • Background
  • Layers
This is useful if you want to fine-tune the cover beyond the basic guided steps.

Set the design as your cover

When your cover is ready, click Set as cover.
This saves the design as your marketplace cover for the book submission.
You cannot download the cover file from the editor. The cover is saved inside PubliWrite and used for your marketplace listing.

Can I still upload my own cover?

Yes. If you already have a finished marketplace cover, you can choose Upload my own instead of Design it here.
Supported marketplace cover formats include:

  • JPG
  • PNG
  • WebP
You can also download a blank 1600 x 2560 px layout if you want to design the cover outside PubliWrite and upload it later.

Important note

Review your marketplace cover carefully before submitting your book.
Make sure the title and author name are correct and visible, and that the cover matches the book you are publishing.
