How do I preview my book before publishing?
The Book Preview panel lets you see how your book will look and feel across different formats and sizes before you publish — without leaving the editor.
Opening the preview
You can open Book Preview from the left sidebar of the editor.
Choosing a format
At the top of the panel, under Format, you can choose how you want to preview your book:
- eBook — Digital, EPUB
- Hardcover — Print on demand
- Paperback — Print on demand
- PDF — Digital
Selecting a format updates the preview so you can see how your book will look in that format.

Choosing a book size
Under Book size, you can choose the trim size for your book. Available sizes include:
- Novel
- Standard
- Demy
- US Royal
- US Letter
- Royal
- A5
The preview updates as you change the size, so you can compare how your manuscript flows across different formats.
Saving your design
Once you're happy with the format and size, click Save this design to keep your choices. You can also click Open book to read to view the full preview.
What the preview does — and doesn't — show
The Book Preview at this stage is about size, format, and how the inside of your book flows — it doesn't include your cover. You'll design your cover separately at the publishing step, using PubliWrite's cover builder or your own artwork.
Why use the preview before publishing?
Use Book Preview to catch issues before you submit your book, such as:
- Text that reads awkwardly at a smaller trim size
- A format that doesn't suit your book's length or genre
- Formatting choices you want to adjust before finalizing
If something looks off, return to the editor to make changes, then come back and preview again.
