What are PubliWrite’s review guidelines?

What are PubliWrite’s review guidelines?

Reviews help readers decide whether a book is right for them and help authors understand how readers respond to their work.

To keep reviews useful and trustworthy, all reviews on PubliWrite and PubliRead should be honest, relevant, respectful, and based on a real reading experience.

Who can leave a review?

Readers can leave reviews for books they have purchased through PubliRead.

This helps make sure reviews come from people who have actually bought or read the book.

What should a good review include?

A helpful review can mention:

  • What you liked about the book
  • What kind of reader may enjoy it
  • Your thoughts on the story, topic, writing style, message, or characters
  • Whether the book met your expectations
  • What stood out to you
  • Any constructive feedback, if relevant

Your review does not need to be long. A short, honest review can still be useful to other readers.

Keep reviews respectful

Reviews can be positive, neutral, or critical, but they should remain respectful.

Avoid:

  • Personal attacks against the author or other readers
  • Offensive or abusive language
  • Harassment or insults
  • Discriminatory language
  • Comments meant only to provoke or upset others

Focus on the book and your reading experience, not on attacking the person behind it.

Keep reviews relevant

Reviews should be about the book you purchased or read.

Avoid including:

  • Unrelated complaints
  • Spam or promotional links
  • Comments about other books or authors that are not relevant
  • Personal disputes
  • Content that does not help readers understand the book

If you had a payment, access, or technical issue, contact PubliWrite support instead of using the review section for support requests.

Be careful with spoilers

If your review includes major plot details, twists, or endings, add a spoiler warning before sharing them.

This helps other readers decide whether they want to continue reading your review.

Do not manipulate reviews

Reviews should reflect real reader opinions.

Do not:

  • Write fake reviews
  • Review your own book from another account
  • Ask someone to leave a dishonest review
  • Pay for positive reviews
  • Offer rewards in exchange for a specific rating
  • Copy and paste a review written by someone else
  • Create multiple accounts to influence ratings

Honest reviews help keep the platform fair for authors and useful for readers.

Why is my review not visible immediately?

Reviews may go through a review process before they appear publicly.

This helps make sure they follow PubliWrite’s community and review guidelines.

If a review does not follow the guidelines, it may be removed, hidden, or rejected.

Can I amend my review?

Yes. You can amend your review after submitting it.

If you update your review, the amended version will go through the review process again before it appears publicly.

What happens if a review breaks the guidelines?

If a review appears to break the guidelines, the PubliWrite team may review it and take action where needed.

Depending on the issue, this may include:

  • Asking for changes
  • Rejecting the review
  • Hiding or removing the review
  • Taking further action if the issue is serious or repeated
