Can I update my print files after publishing?

Can I update my print files after publishing?

No. Once a print book has been published, you cannot update the print files directly from your account.

If you need to change a published print book, you must contact the PubliWrite team and explain what needs to be updated.

Why can’t I update print files myself?

Print files are used for physical production, so changes can affect how the final book is printed.

Updates may affect:

  • Interior layout
  • Page size
  • Margins
  • Cover PDF
  • Spine size
  • Bleed and trim areas
  • Print cost
  • Production setup
  • Reader orders

Because of this, print file updates need to be reviewed before they can be applied.

What can I request to update?

You can contact PubliWrite if you need to update:

  • Interior PDF file
  • Print-ready cover PDF
  • Marketplace cover image
  • Page size or print setup details
  • Text stock or lamination options
  • Book metadata related to the print version
  • Pricing, where applicable

How do I request a print file update?

To request an update, contact PubliWrite support at info@publiwrite.com.

In your message, include:

  • Your book title
  • Your author name or pen name
  • The print format, such as paperback or hardcover
  • What you want to update
  • The corrected file, if available
  • A short explanation of why the update is needed

Can changes be made if the book is already being printed?

Not always.

If a reader’s print order is already being processed, printed, or shipped, the update may not be able to apply to that specific order.

In that case, the updated files may only apply to future print orders, if the update is approved and processed.

What happens after I contact PubliWrite?

The PubliWrite team will review your request and let you know what happens next.

Depending on the update, the team may:

  • Confirm whether the change can be made
  • Ask for corrected files
  • Review the new print files
  • Check whether the update affects production cost or setup
  • Apply the update for future orders
  • Let you know if the update cannot be made

Important note

Before publishing a print book, make sure your interior file, cover PDF, page size, print settings, and price are final.

Print updates may take time to review and may not be possible once an order is already in production.
