How do I price my book?

How do I price my book?

As an author, you can choose the price of your book when setting it up for publication on PubliWrite.
Your price should reflect the value of your book while also remaining realistic for your genre, format, audience, and publishing goals.

What should I consider when pricing my book?

When choosing a price, consider:

  • Book format — digital books and print books may need different pricing.
  • Book length — longer or more detailed books may support a higher price.
  • Genre and audience — compare your book with similar titles in the same category.
  • Reader expectations — think about what your target readers are used to paying.
  • Print costs — for physical books, the price should account for printing costs.
  • Royalty goals — consider how much you want to earn from each sale.

Pricing digital books

For digital books, you can choose a price that feels appropriate for your book and audience.
Before setting the price, we recommend checking similar books in your genre to understand the typical price range.
Your digital book royalties will depend on the price you choose and your PubliWrite plan.

Pricing print books

Print books have production costs, so they usually need to be priced differently from digital books.
When setting the price for a print book, make sure the price accounts for:

  • Printing costs
  • Book format
  • Page count
  • Paper and cover options
  • Your expected royalty

Can I choose any price?

You have control over your book price, but some limits or recommendations may apply depending on the format, currency, marketplace setup, print costs, or technical requirements shown during the publishing process.
If a price cannot be accepted, the platform will let you know during setup or review.

Can I change the price later?

Yes, but price changes for published books are not currently self-service.
If your book is already live and you want to update its price, please contact the PubliWrite team and include:

  • Your book title
  • Your author name or pen name
  • The current price
  • The new price you would like to set

Our team will review the request and update the price for you if everything is correct.
