Who owns the rights to my book on PubliWrite?

Who owns the rights to my book on PubliWrite?

You do.

When you publish on PubliWrite, you keep ownership of your book and intellectual property. PubliWrite does not take ownership of your manuscript, copyright, or creative work.

PubliWrite provides the tools and platform to help you publish, sell, and manage your book, but the rights to the book remain yours.

What rights do I keep as an author?

As the author or rights holder, you keep the rights to your work, including the right to:

  • Sell your book on PubliWrite
  • Sell your book elsewhere
  • Promote your book through your own channels
  • Create new editions or versions of your book
  • Create related works, such as translations, adaptations, or audiobooks
  • Enter into agreements with other platforms, publishers, or partners

Publishing on PubliWrite does not prevent you from selling or distributing your book elsewhere.

What can PubliWrite do with my book?

PubliWrite can display, distribute, and make your book available through the platform according to the publishing options you choose.

This allows readers to discover, purchase, and access your book through PubliWrite or PubliRead.

PubliWrite does not own your book and does not become the copyright holder.

Can I edit or remove my book after publishing?

After your book is live, some changes may not be available directly from your dashboard.

If you want to update, delist, or remove a published book, you may need to contact the PubliWrite team so we can guide you through the correct process.

For more details, see: Can I remove my book from PubliWrite?

What am I responsible for?

As the author or rights holder, you are responsible for making sure that:

  • Your book is your original work, or you have permission to publish it.
  • You have the right to use any third-party content included in the book.
  • Your book does not infringe someone else’s copyright, trademark, privacy, or other legal rights.
  • Your book complies with PubliWrite’s content guidelines.
  • Any co-authors, illustrators, editors, or contributors are properly credited, where needed.

Copyright rules vary by country.

In many places, copyright protection may exist when an original work is created, but some authors choose to register their copyright for additional documentation or legal protection.

If you are unsure what applies in your country, we recommend speaking with a qualified legal professional.

PubliWrite cannot provide legal advice.
